Technology Department

Our Technology Department includes two full-time staff members. Eric Hall, our Technology Coordinator, is the main "point of contact" for all tech requests and handles user needs including application training, collaborative planning, 1:1 professional development, classroom and lab support.  Support and appointments can be arranged Mon/Weds at Crossett Brook and Tues/Thurs at Thatcher Brook. Fridays are split between the two schools as needed. Our Technology Assistant Keith Puffer is responsible for hardware, software, and network maintenance as well as installation and upgrades. Please contact Eric to get your maintenance requests "on the list." We do our best to address requests as soon as possible, and it is more efficient for one person to field and triage requests.

(Updated March 11th)

Spring projects are beginning to kick in with a vengeance! Please make sure you make arrangements as far in advance as possible for equipment and assistance from Eric if needed. It is also helpful if you can do a "sample" of what you hope students to do beforehand to make sure software versions and settings will do what you want them to do. This is particularly true for web work: make sure your sites are "open" and all plugins function properly on the machines you plan to use. With increased use comes increased wear and tear, and it is even more essential that laptops are stored and plugged in properly between sessions.

Please let us know ASAP if you have difficulty with any of our technology systems. Our assumption is that everything is working properly unless we hear otherwise! It is a busy time of year as many classes are involved in technology projects, so reporting problems immediately (especially issues with our portable labs) is essential.

Equipment Schedules: Please make sure all shared equipment is signed out properly and returned as quickly as possible for the next person. If you find that something is not in the cabinet when you look for it, check the schedule and contact the last person who had it. Remember also that only one person at a time can edit the schedules, so Save and Close when you are finished signing up!
